Event: Medical and Work Reviews for SSDI and SSI Beneficiaries with Mental and/or Developmental Disabilities

Learn About:

• Issues that may arise for beneficiaries undergoing a (medical) continuing disability review (CDR) by the Social Security Administration (SSA);
• Issues that arise when undergoing a work review (SSDI) or eligibility redetermination (SSI) by the SSA; overview of SSDI and SSI Work Incentive Programs;
• Cessations and resulting overpayments.

Speaker: Steven Bruce, Legal Director of People With Disabilities Foundation.

Mr. Bruce worked for the Social Security Administration as a Senior Staff Attorney. In 2000, he founded People With Disabilities Foundation. Steven has worked for the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Offices for Civil Rights, was a supervisor in the Government Benefits Unit for Legal Aid, and was an Assistant Public Defender. He is a former Senior Staff Attorney for the Social Security Administration.  He has a B.A. in Economics and Psychology, with honors, from the University of California at Berkeley. His J.D. is from the University of San Francisco School of Law.
